The Walla Walla District Corps of Engineers is in a unique position to partner with municipal, county, state and tribal governments, federal agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to plan, design and implement water and natural resource projects that encourage the construction of healthy and sustainable communities and environments in Idaho. The Boise Office provides a framework for the efforts of these organizations to improve and implement more cost-effective and comprehensive ways to address a wide range of issues related to water and natural resources. The organizer will work collaboratively with several members of the national and Sierra Club section staff, partner organizations and volunteer leaders to support the strategic and coordinated work of the campaign. The chapter organizer will help lead the Idaho Sierra Club's efforts to build a popular movement for climate justice in Idaho. This position requires the ability to travel to meet with teams of volunteers in Idaho, outside the Boise area, and attend national conferences. Environmental organizations in Boise, Idaho are engaging in various public outreach efforts to help protect our nation's environment. These efforts include litigation, grassroots public participation, outreach and education.
