Protecting the Environment in Boise, Idaho: How Environmental Organizations and Government Agencies Work Together

CAES works to promote energy efficiency and sustainability through research and education.\The Idaho Prescribed Fire Council (IPFC) is a voluntary organization dedicated to promoting the safe and effective use of prescribed fire throughout Idaho. The IPFC serves as a forum for discussing issues related to prescribed fire and provides training and technical assistance to local governments.\The Idaho Rural Water Association (IRWA) is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that was originally formed in 1987 to provide training and technical assistance to water and wastewater facilities in Idaho with populations under 10,000 inhabitants. IRWA works with local governments to ensure that water resources are managed responsibly.\Finally, the Idaho Office of Emergency Management (IOEM) is a division of the Idaho Military Division and the Emergency Management Agency of the 26% Homeland Security of the state of Idaho.
